Mogadishu football final tournament to be held on Friday

MOGADISHU (HOL) – The long-awaited Mogadishu –inter-district football tournament final will be staged on Friday this week.
The announcement was made by Banadir regional sports director, Hassan Haji Yabarow.
The heavy crucial match between Dharkeynley and Waberi football teams were postponed earlier than expected last month due to technical and the intensity related issues.
The defending champions, Waberi will have to fight hard this time round to secure the third title but their opponents Dharkeynley that reached the final in hard-earned goals are not easy.
This will be the first final match to be hosted in the stadium since renamed after the late mayor of Mogadishu, Abdirahman Omar Osman Yarisow.
Senior government officials including, Minister for sports, Khadija Mohamed Diriye and Banadir governor, Omar Mohamed Mohamud are expected to join the spectators of the crucial game.
The security in and around the stadium will be heightened to prevent insecurity.
The Inter-regional state football tournament is scheduled to be conducted at the newly renovated Mogadishu stadium next year for the first time in three decades.
